As part of MSU’s Statewide Science Festival, the Grand Rapids Public Museum and Grand Rapids Amateur Astronomical Association (GRAAA) present hands-on activities for kids and adults alike with telescope demonstrations and presentations at the Veen Observatory, beginning at 8:30pm. Observing the quarter moon and other sky objects will follow as the sky darkens (weather permitting). Assisting with the event will be members of the GRAAA, who operate the Observatory with support from the Museum. There are three large telescopes at the Veen, including one which can be operated robotically. Portable telescopes will also be set up on the grounds for visitors to use.
