Celebrating childhood is at the heart of the mission of the Grand Rapids Children's Museum. Located downtown on the corner of Fulton and Sheldon, the facility provides a fun, interactive and hands-on environment that helps children learn about the world around them.
Beautifully surrounded by steel beams and exposed brick, the museum interior offers numerous permanent exhibits in a kid-friendly setting. Among the most popular is the live beehive where visitors can get an up-close view of bees as they create honey and beeswax while going through their life cycle. Kids also have the chance to make giant bubbles, explore a firehouse, drive a car, play musical instruments, shop at the grocery store or give the TV weather report. The Children's Museum also offers shows throughout the day that let kids dress up in costume and perform on stage or participate in games. Special art project tables and rooms are scattered throughout the building, and children can take their creations home with them. Traveling exhibits are constantly changing, and a trip to the museum is never the same twice.
