Korean Connection, a West Michigan-based non-profit organization, is hosting Chuseok: A Korean Thanksgiving at the Goei Center in Grand Rapids, on Thursday, September 12 from 6:00-8:30 pm. The event will feature both Korean food catered by Emonae Korean BBQ, entertainment provided by Calvin University students, and is $50 per person with part of the proceeds going to an orphanage support group in Korea.

Chuseok is a major harvest festival in Korea that is often considered Korean Thanksgiving Day.

In addition to Korean entertainment and food, the Chuseok event will provide opportunities for cultural understanding and education, as well as, welcoming remarks by Honorary Consul Mr. David M. Roden from the Honorary Consulate of the Republic of Korea in Detroit. Also, a portion of the proceeds will be given in support of KKOOM, https://kkoom.org a Michigan nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization that provides support to a Korean orphanage for educational opportunities.

Korean Connection was established in 2013 to support the exchange of ideas, understanding, appreciation, and support for the close historical and economic ties between the people of Korea, the U.S. and the state of Michigan.
