Grand Rapids Opens its City Pools for the Summer


With summer officially beginning, I’m sure we are all looking to fill our calendars with activities that will keep us cool. The Grand Rapids Parks and Recreation Department is onboard, opening its city pools and splash pads starting on June 8 and running through August 25. Find out where you can go to cool off as the temperatures start to rise.

Grand Rapids features a number of pools and splash pads all over the city. Pools include the Briggs Park Pool, the Martin Luther King Park Pool and the Richmond Park Pool. The pools offer lap swim, open swim sessions and swimming lessons for residents and non residents alike.

If the pool seems like too much of a commitment, then you can just take the kids out to run around in some of the city’s many splash pads. Locations include Aberdeen Park, Fuller Park, Roosevelt Park and many more.
