GRNow Gem: Deja Brew Coffee Bar

If you’re around the Knapp’s Corner area and are looking for a place to come in from the chilly Michigan air to warm up and relax, be sure to check out the Deja Brew Coffee Bar. Located on the East Beltline, behind Twisted Rooster, this local spot offers fine coffee brews in a cozy atmosphere.

In the past, current owner Chip Rennaker would enjoy grabbing a coffee at his favorite coffee shop, ‘Clique’. One day, while stopping by for a cuppa, he was disappointed to find the shop was permanently closed.  He decided he would take over the spot, reviving the atmosphere he had come to know and love, but adding his own personal touch.

Today, the shop, which opened in March of 2017, is proud to serve Italian inspired espresso drinks as well as various teas from Uncommon Coffee Roasters. Rennaker also offers his own unusual yet tempting beverages, some even thought up by his own staff. These include the Witch’s Brew (white chocolate pumpkin latte), Meil (honey cinnamon latte) and Magic Hot Chocolate (rich, creamy, hot chocolate with half and half instead of milk, mixed with other ‘magic’ ingredients).

Whether it’s a family-like atmosphere you crave, a laid-back place to relax and sip a warm drink, or the tempting beverages the Deja Brew offers, this coffee spot is definitely one worth stopping into. And after the first stop, we’re confident you will be coming back for a daily dose of more of the wonderful flavors the shop has to offer.
