It seems there is never enough funding available to support children and the arts. That is why it’s so wonderful when there are events created to celebrate children and their creativity.
The month of May 2018 will bring the Citywide Art Show to the Western Michigan Conference Center. The event will run from May 4-30 and display artwork made by students in the Grand Rapids Public School.

Encouraging the artistic endeavors of the young ones in the Grand Rapids area, this art show will feature artwork created by students in grades K-12. The pieces that are on display were chosen by their teachers as representing some of the best artwork the children produced during the school year.
To celebrate these children on their artistic artwork, guests are welcome to come to the Conference Center for the receptions that are being held to honor the artists. The first reception will be held for students in grades K-8 and center-based program artists and will take place on May 8 from 5:30 to 7:00 PM. The second reception will be held for secondary and nonpublic school artists and will take place on May 9 from 5:30 to 7:00 PM.
Those who would rather come on their own time to browse the artwork are welcome to drop by during regular gallery hours of Monday – Thursday from 8 AM to 7 PM and Fridays from 8 AM to 5 PM. Admission to the gallery and all events are free and open to the public.
This wonderful event will be a positive step in encouraging the creative minds of the youth in the Grand Rapids area. Please come by to support this wonderful cause showcasing the art of the children in our local schools.
