Inside, the Haunt has increased to 25,000 sq. ft. and features dozens of professionally designed sets and rooms. Outside, last year's new attraction, The Dark Maze has grown to 15,000 sq ft. for 2008. Ticket prices: general admission to The Haunt is $14, VIP is $20; Dark Maze & Haunt combo tickets start at $22. $2.00 and $5.00 off coupons available at Peppinos Pizza and Family Video's outlets. Not recommended for children under 10.
Witch's Walk - When clearing a field to plant corn, a farmer came across an old cemetery and tried to avoid it as he plowed and planted around it. Some graves, however, were not marked and were subsequently disturbed. Since then, strange sounds have been coming from the field and former graveyard. The Witch's Walk haunted corn maze is a half mile of twists and turns over this disturbed burial ground. Located near 6 Mile Rd & Fruit Ridge NW. Tickets are $9.50 with coupons available on witchswalk.com. Carlson's Crypt Haunted Trail - Located in Belding, Carlson's Crypt has both daytime activities for younger kids and nighttime haunted attractions for adults and kids 10 and older. During the day, kids can work their way through the corn maize and pick and carve pumpkins. At night, bring a flashlight to the Night Maize or take a chance on the Haunted Trail. Admission is $3-$5 for the maize during daylight and $15 for both night activities. Coupons available on carlsonscrypt.com. Witches of New Salem - In Dorr (south of Grand Rapids), take a spooky journey into the unknown while led on a haunted guided tour of the Witch-Way corn maze or venture into the haunted woods. Other activities include hay rides, a petting zoo, pumpkin patch and more. Tickets to the haunted attractions are $9 each or $16 together. Faith Lutheran Church Haunted House - The all-ages haunted house located at 3 Mile NE & Fuller will be open October 30 & Nov 1. Games for those too scared to go through the house. Admission is $5. Outside Grand Rapids Nights of Fear - Do you like scary movies? This Halloween, Nights of Fear presents "THE MISSING" a cinematic journey into terror. For 2008, the haunted attraction is longer darker and scarier than ever with indoor and outdoor attractions. Also available is the area's only "Buried Alive" burial simulator, plus concessions and photo opportunities. $13 general admission; free parking. Haunted Stable House - The ghosts of the Felt Estate in Holland are alive and well and waiting in the stable house just down the hill from the Felt Mansion. Beginning October 10th, the haunt will be open from 7 p.m. until l1 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays. Cost for tour: $13.00 adults; $6.00 children. Haunted Hall - The haunt formerly located in Grand Haven moves to Great Lakes Downs for 2008 and brings with it the legend of a reopened haunted mine shaft. Opens October 4; tickets are $6 per person and anyone who donates a canned food item will save $1. Haunted Forest in Holland - A night you will want to forget at Winstrom Park in Holland! Open from dusk until 10:30 p.m. October 24, 25, 31 and November 1. $5 per person, kids 5 and under are free. Crane Orchard Haunted Corn Maze - The haunted attraction at the orchard in Fennville opens at dusk October 3 and is not recommended for kids ages 10 and under. $14 gets you into both the corn maze and a special effects 3-D barn. During the day, Crane has hayrides and u-pick apples. Phobia House - The indoor and 3-D haunt in downtown Kalamazoo returns with an all-new theme, "Dark Magic and Urban Legends". The approximate tour time through the 16,000+ sq ft. Phobia House is 18 to 25 minutes and the attraction is not recommended for ages under 15. Tickets are $13 per person and include a free pair of 3-D glasses. The Haunt Park - At the Psycho Ward V Haunted House, the Cranston clan, under the direction of "Floyd" the psychotic butcher, has taken over even more territory on the grounds of the Kalamazoo Speedway. Admission is $12 per person; not recommended for kids under 12. Opens October 10. Trail of Terror - Run through the haunted woods and avoid chainsaw-wielding madmen, ghosts spooks and goblins, Fridays and Saturdays October 10-31 in Holton. Tickets are $12, with VIP available for $17. Parental discretion advised. Haunted House Theater - Tour the burned out relic of an abandoned theater in Fremont and find out what terrible events befell the tortured spirits who still linger. Admission: $5; open October 24-26. Haunted Cider Mill - The old cider mill at Country Farms in Charlotte is transformed into 4,000 square feet of spooky fun on Friday and Saturday nights beginning October 10. Admission is $7. A non-scary nighttime hayride through the orchard is also available for $3. Ripley's Haunted Acres - Located in Vermontville (southeast of Grand Rapids), the attraction has a haunted barn, haunted corn maze and haunted woods Friday and Saturday nights, September 26-October 26. Individual activities are $8-$10; combo tickets are $20. Shadows in the Shed - In Hart, come face-to-face with a six-foot Freddie Kreuger, be in a room alone with the Puppet Master and his victims, watch a jack-in-the-box come alive right before you very own eyes. 22 rooms of terror in total and they are not recommended for children under the age of ten. Admission is $6 per person, with $1 of each ticket going to charity. The Haunted Jail - The smell of fear resonates from the old jail in downtown Big Rapids, the cells of which have a history of paranormal activity. General admission is $9; open Fridays and Saturdays from October 10 through November 1. Not recommended for children under 13. The Niles Haunted House Scream Park - The nationally-recognized haunted attraction near the Michigan-Indiana border has welcomed more than 1,000,000 visitors to its three haunted houses, haunted hayride and Field of Screams over the years. For 2008, the main haunted house is all-new and themed areas include 'Nightmare at the North Pole', 'All Hallows Evil' and 'Midway of the Macabre'. Admission prices range from $3-$10 per attraction (combo tickets available) with proceeds benefiting many Michiana charities. Opens September 19.
Robinette's - Belgian draft horses take visitors on an authentic hay wagon through Robinette's apple and fruit orchards on Saturdays (11a-5p) and Sundays (1p-5p) during September and October. Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for kids under 12. The cider mill and wine tasting room are also open. Located at the East Beltine & 4 Mile Rd. Moelker Orchards - Hayrides take place every Saturday through the end of October from noon until 5 p.m. at the orchard located just west of Wilson Ave and Millenium Park in Grand Rapids. Cost is $4.50 for adults, $3 for kids (under 2 are free). Other kids activities include pumpkin decorating and games. Koetsier's - Hayrides run every 1/2 hour on Fridays and Saturdays through October at the family-owned greenhouse on Spaulding Ave SE. Admission is $3 for everyone ages 2 and up and Koetsier's also has a kids play area, maze and pumpkin painting. Bos Greenhouse Corn Maze - Also located on Spaulding Ave, the haunted maze in one of the William Bos greenhouses will be open 8-11 p.m. October 24, 25, 30 and 31. The maze is not recomended for kids under 9 years of age and strobe lights are also in use. Fruit Ridge Harvest Festival - Located northwest of Grand Rapids on Fruit Ridge in Kent City, the orchard features hayrides, a 15 acre corn maze, pony rides, farm animals, children's activities, doughnuts and more. Hayrides and entry to the corn maze are each $6, or can be combined $10. Wells Orchards Cornmaze - The working family farm on Kenowa Ave SW along the Grand River features a corn maze, apples, peaches, painted pumpkins and a farm market. Klackle Orchards - Weekends of Family Fun at Klackle in Greenville include hayrides, an enchanted pumpkin patch, a petting zoo, a straw tower and more for $8, as well as u-pick apples and pumpkins. Post Family Farm - The Hudsonville orchard host family fun days Monday-Friday with hayrides, pumpkin train rides and more for $3. Saturday Fall Festivals enjoy kids crafts, games, a corn maze and kiddie corral, in addition to the hayrides and pumpkin train. Admission is $6 per person and kids under 2 are free. Gull Meadow Corn Maze - The Kalamazoo Air Zoo presents the corn maze tribute to flight and veterans with the shape of a P-40 airplane. Other activities include Pumpkin Lane, a tunnel slide and a 100-foot zipline. Entry prices range from $4-$7 depending on activity.

Churchill's - Devils Night: Eyes Wide Shut happening October 30 is an intimate and seductive masquerade ball for adults only. Specials include 1/2 price wines, three olive cocktails and Pernod Absinthe. Crush - Gates: A Devil's Night Event at Crush takes place October 30 at 9 p.m. More details to be announced. DeltaPlex - WGRD's Halloween Freak Show - Shock meets rock when 97.9 WGRD host the party at The DeltaPlex October 30 with special guests Mindless Self Indulgence, Sick Puppies and more to be announced. Teen Halloween at the KIA - The Kalamazoo Institute of Arts' annual event for teens 13-18 takes place October 25 and will include a costume contest, dance party, prizes, candy, refreshments and a special performance by improv troupe Crawlspace Eviction. Ed Dunneback & Girls - Situated on 6 Mile Rd NW in Grand Rapids, the farm market has u-pick apples and pumpkins from 11a-4p on Saturdays and noon-4p on Sundays. Schwallier's Country Basket - The farm market on 9 Mile Rd in Sparta has u-pick pumpkins and apples, as well as a petting farm, fresh cider, cow train rides and an observable working bee hive. Steffens Orchards - Located on 13 Mile Road in Sparta, the orchard has 14 varieties of u-pick apples, plus a scarecrow factory, corn maze, wagon slide and more. Hill Bros Orchards - The cider mill is open to the public. Located near Peach Ridge Ave & 7 Mile, about 3 miles west of Alpine. Gavin Orchards - Apples, cider, pumpkins and fall decorations in September & October. Located in Coopersville near I-96 and 48th Ave. Klein Cider Mill - Watch cider made the old-fashioned way and pick your own pumpkin out of the patch at the farm located on 10 Mile in Sparta. Kent Harvest Trails - The trails program highlights 19 participating farms in Kent County which offer local families the chance to visit farms for orchard tours, face painting, pumpkin picking, scarecrow stuffing and many more autumn activities with no general admission charge. Many farms do have fees for specific activities. The website includes a map with all participating locations. Michigan Apple Orchards - Central West Michigan Route
Colorfall - The annual celebration of the autumn season beginning September 13 at Frederik Meijer Gardens features the largest mum display in Michigan, children's activities, floral arrangements created by local experts and the chance to search for gourds, pumpkins and scarecrows around the Farm Garden. On October 18 & 19 discover giant pumpkins weighing more than 100 pounds, plus view carving demonstrations. Tickets ($12 for adults, $4-$6 for kids) includes admission to all areas of The Gardens, including the new Jaume Plensa exhibit opening October 3. Pumpkin Train - The Fall tradition returns to downtown Coopersville each Saturday and Sunday, September 27 through October 26. Passengers are entertained during the train ride to Marne and back by The Great Pumpkin, Scarecrow and Little Crow. Shows are not scary or spooky in nature. Adults $14.50; kids $11.50. While in Coopersville, visit the scarecrows lining Main Street. Cider Time Festival - The historic cider mill near Gun Lake holds its Cider Time Festivals from noon until 5 p.m. each Saturday and Sunday, September 27 through October 12. Check out cider pressing demonstrations, a farm animal petting area, horse drawn carriage rides, exhibits and more. Adults: $5; kids $3. Zeeland Pumpkinfest - Events at the family festival happening in downtown Zeeland October 2-4 include a pumpkin hunt, costume contest, seed spitting contest, pedal tractor pull, chili cookoff and games. Free admission. Blandford Nature Center Fall Harvest Festival - The family-friendly community event taking place October 4 and 5 at the nature center on GR's northwest side will have a cider press, scarecrow making, pumpkin painting, live music, wagon rides and more. Admission: $5 Adults, $3 Children (ages 3 & under free). Fall Fun Day at the Holland Farmer’s Market - Celebrate the changing of the season in downtown Holland October 4 with pumpkin painting, hayrides, a pumpkin pie-eating contest and more. Free admission. Halloween Palooza - All 12 Goodwill locations around the Grand Rapids metro area will have cider and donuts, games, temporary tattoos and costume ideas from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. October 4. Old Tyme Harvest Festival -Scotts Mill County Park near Kalamazoo will have demonstrations on blacksmithing and farming, a flea market, rides to the pumpkin patch, concessions and many family activities including pumpkins for kids October 4. Admission: Adults $5, Children 12 and under are free. Spooky Tunes - Don't miss the collection of favorite Halloween songs set to dazzling special effects inside the Chaffee Planetarium at the Grand Rapids Public Museum. Cost is museum admission + $3; runs Saturdays and Sundays October 4-26. Lowell Harvest Festival - Downtown Lowell is the site of the all-day fall celebration October 11. Events kick off with a 5K run, followed by an arts & crafts show, pumpkin chuckin' contest, ghost stories, chili cook-off and more. Free admission. Wyoming Pumpkin Path - The free family event at Lamar Park (Byron Center Ave & Porter St.) in Wyoming October 11 will have strolls through the pumpkin path, candy, prizes and a pumpkin-carving contest from 5-7 p.m. Costumes optional. White Lake Pumpkinfest - The famous Pumpkin Roll down the Dowling Hill highlights the family festival in downtown Montague October 11. Also enjoy pumpkin painting, giant pumpkins on display, seed spitting, pumpkin carving and more. Free admission. HarvestFest '08 - On October 12, Canal Park on Monroe & Sixth Street in Grand Rapids will have live music, games, pumpkin decorating contest for kids and adults and lots of food provided by local businesses. The Zoo Goes Boo - Dress up and go trick-or-treating on the Kooky-Not-Spooky Trail at John Ball Zoo, participate in kids activities and see the animals. Open Oct 17, 18, 24 & 25. $3.50 for adults, $3 for kids. Bunnicula - The Grand Rapids Civic Theatre presents the play about a family who brings home a seemingly sweet little bunny, but the other pets at the house, Chester the cat and Harold the dog, are convinced that Bunnicula is really a vampire. The family-friendly play runs October 17-26. Tickets: $8-$14. The Great ZooBoo - Hosted by the Binder Park Zoo in Battle Creek, the event opening October 17 will have trick-or-treating, hayrides and entertainment from storytellers, magicians and pirates. General admission is $11.95 for adults, $9.95 for kids. Oktoberfest Family Fun Day - The Muskegon Winter Sports Complex and the Muskegon State Park host a day of family fun October 18 from 4-9 p.m. with a pumpkin luge, candy and games, food and a bonfire. Halloween at the Van Raalte Farm - Discover wild night creatures, fun activities and treats along the trails of the DeGraaf Nature Center in Holland October 24. Enjoy cider and cookies at the end along with some campfire activities. $2.00 per person; bring a flashlight. Howl-N-Boo - The 4th annual event for families and their pets takes place October 25 at the Kent County Humane Society with games, crafts, food, trick-or-treating and more. All proceeds will benefit KCHS. LitLife Halloween Party - Literary Life Bookstore (Wealthy & Eastern) will host a special kids Halloween party on October 25th. Activities include storytelling by community leaders every half hour, and make-and-take crafts such as creating your own trick-or-treat bag or Halloween mask. Fallasburg Fall Festival - This annual arts festival celebrates 40 years in 2008 and will be held in and around the pavilion area at the west end of Fallasburg Park in Lowell September 27 & 28. 86 artists from around the region will have booths selling fine arts and crafts, plus there will be music, food and entertainment. Sweeney Todd - Costumes are encouraged at the Broadway Theatre Guild's presentation of Sweeney Todd, the musical about an infamous demon barber and his crafty neighbor who decide to slice their way through London's upper crust. Runs October 21-26 at DeVos Performance Hall. Tickets: $30-$60. Hallowe'en Hafla - The Mayne Studio in East Hills Neighborhood will have live music, Arabic club dance music, costume contest and more October 25. Tickets are $10. Sleepy Hollow - Based on of the short story 'The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving', the theatre performance is filled with multimedia effects and illusions that bring to life a menacing moment in time for the villagers of this small Dutch settlement. Parents with young children and those with weak stomachs, please be advised: this production is a dark and graphic retelling of a Halloween classic, with no shortage of disturbing imagery and on-stage violence. Film Festival - The festival returns to The Wealthy Theatre for its third annual year October 23-26, playing the best of independent and classic sci-fi films, action, horror, suspense, thrillers and chillers. Halloween Harvest of Souls - The Carnival of Chaos and KLQ present the second annual concert event at The Orbit Room October 25. Miss Pussykatt & the Devil Dolls and Weddg return to perform live and are joined by Release the Crimson, Lungwurm and Pandora. Halloween Swing Dance - The Grand Rapids Original Swing Society presents their traditional Halloween swing dance at the Grand Rapids Public Museum in downtown Grand Rapids. Super Happy Funtime Halloween Show - On October 18, Super Happy Funtime's popular Haloween show returns to frighten and titillate an unsuspecting audience. Zombie dancers will gyrate to live music. Grand Rapids World Record Attempt Largest Zombie Walk - Following the success of the downtown pillow fight at Rosa Parks Circle, Rob Bliss is back with another event on October 30: an attempt to break the world record for the largest ever Zombie Walk. The goal is to have more than 1,500 people dressed as zombies in one location. Takes place at 9 p.m. at Rosa Parks; participation is free. Saugatuck Halloween Festival - On October 25, downtown Saugatuck will have country music, entertainment, storytelling, arts & crafts featuring Harvest and Christmas items and a parade at 4:00 p.m. Starts at 10 a.m.
Grand Rapids Children's Museum - Kids can wear their favorite costumes and trick-or-treat at the GRCM October 30 from 5:30-7:30 p.m., and also enjoy the glow-in-the-dark room. General admission is reduced to $1 per person for family night. Eastown - The Annual Eastown Halloween Candy Walk starts at Mosaic Life Church (419 Norwood SE) on October 31 at 4:30 p.m. Kids will be able to trick-or-treat at neighborhood businesses and games and Halloween activities will follow.Centerpointe Mall - The trick-or-treat Halloween party October 31 is open to kids 15 and under in costume from 6-8 p.m. Magicians and jugglers will be on hand and Thunder 94.5 will broadcast live.
