Easter Egg Hunts

Ada - Kids in 5th grade and younger are invited to the Whitneyville Fellowship Church Easter Egg Hunt taking place April 11 from 10 a.m. until noon. Following the egg hunt will be a story time about the Resurrection and kids can then create their own crafts to take home. Event will be held rain or shine. Free.

Allendale - Come snow or shine, the 3rd Annual Allendale Easter Egg Hunt will take place at the Township Park April 11 at 1 p.m. Kids up to 10 years old are invited to gather prize-filled eggs and have a chance to win one of six Grand Prizes, and the Easter Bunny will visit for photos. Families are encouraged to bring a book, DVD or board game to donate to DeVos Children's Hospital. Free event.

Belding - Encounter Church in Belding hosts the Eggstravaganza! from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. April 11. In addition to the egg hunt, the church will have a petting zoo, games and a lunch, all at no charge.

Coopersville - Join the Circle of Friends for their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 11th at Veteran's Memorial Park in Coopersville. The fun begins promptly at 10:00 a.m. rain or shine for infants through 5th graders, who will also be able to visit the Easter Bunny after the hunt.

Grand Rapids-Centerpointe Mall - The Grand Rapids Jaycees' Easter Egg Extravaganza returns to Centerpointe April 11 at 10 a.m. Activities include a free Easter egg scramble, carnival games, an inflatable moon walk and obstacle course, face painting, and a free coloring station. The Easter Bunny will also be available for photos. Registration for the event is free and includes four tickets towards games or activities (extra tickets are 25 cents each).

Kentwood Egg Hunt & Breakfast - The City of Kentwood hosts the annual egg hunt April 11 at the Activities Center on 48th St SE. Before the 10 a.m. egg hunt, families can join the Easter Bunny for breakfast. The egg hunt is free and pricing for the breakfast is $5 for adults and $3.50 for children.

Grand Haven - The annual egg hunt taking place April 11 at 11 a.m. at Central Park in downtown Grand Haven is a free event geared toward kids up to 10 years old. Over 5,000 eggs filled with candy and prizes will be strewn throughout the park.

Grandville - The giant egg hunt at Ivanrest Church happening April 11 is open to the community and will have refreshments, prizes and fun. Kids 9 and under can search for thousands of eggs from 10-11 a.m. In case of rain, the hunt will be moved indoors.

Hudsonville - The annual community egg hunt at Hughes Park will happen Saturday, April 11 at 10 a.m. for kids ages 1-10. Free admission.

Hudsonville - Chapel Pointe Church on Baldwin Street will host their annual egg hunt April 11 at 10 a.m. For kids through 5th gradem there will be face painting, Easter tattoos and the Easter story. Free.

Rockford - The outdoor egg hunt at Blythefield CRC for kids ages 3-10 will have crafts, games and eggs and a chance to hear the real Easter story. Begins at 10 a.m. April 11.

Walker - The Walker Rec. Dept. will hold its 19th Annual Eggstravaganza at 10:30 a.m. April 11 at the City Hall Complex on Remembrance Drive. The event is for kids 7 and younger who will receive bags of goodies and free refreshments.

Wyoming - The Wyoming Jaycees present the annual Easter Egg Scramble at Rogers Plaza from 9 a.m. until noon April 4. The free event is for kids ages 2 to 11, and in addition to the Easter egg hunt, there will be face painting, balloons, a craft table, games and a visit by the Easter bunny.


Easter Brunches & Buffets

Amway Grand - The popular annual buffet is held in the Ambassador Ballroom and features prime rib, sushi, an omelet station, meats, salads, shrimp, salmon and a large dessert table. Cost is $29.95 for adults and $12.95 for kids 4-12. Seatings at 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 1:30 and 2:30 on April 12; reservations required.

Bay Pointe Inn - The annual buffet at the Gun Lake resort is $22.95 for adults and $10.95 for Children(5-12); kids under 5 are free. Seating times April 12 from 9am-4pm, reservations required.

Charley's Crab - The annual brunch buffet takes place from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Sunday, April 12, with ham, prime rib, snow crab and much more. At 3 p.m. the omelet station turns over to dinner entrees. Pricing is $26.99 for adults, $13.99 for kids 4-12 and those under 4 are free. Reservations required; some seating times still available.

Crowne Plaza - The lavish buffet hosted by the hotel on 28th near I-96 will feature a chef's carving station, create your own omelet station, special children's station, seafood station and dessert bar. Pricing is $10.95 for kids, $24.94 for adults. Advance reservations are required.

Grand Rapids Art Museum - After church on Easter Sunday, stop at the Grand Rapids Art Museum for a delicious brunch. Afterward, continue the spiritual day with Durer – Rembrandt: The Story of the Bible.

Mangiamo! - The Easter brunch menu will have shrimp cocktail, a smoked bacon omelette, Italian eggs benedict, stuffed french toast and more. Most plates are $8-$11 each.

The Melting Pot - The Easter Bunny will visit The Melting Pot from noon until 6 p.m. April 12 with goodies and balloons for kids and the fondue restaurant will have three different menus on Easter Sunday, including a children's plate.

Noto's - Noto's annual brunch features unique selections like wild boar eggs benedict, Sicilian chicken, ratatouille and semolina gnocchi bites, as well as traditional favorites like omelets, carved lamb, pancakes and assorted cheesecakes. Pricing is $26.95 for adults, $12.95 for kids 4-10 and free for children 3 and under. Reservations required.

Radisson - Open from 10 a.m until 3 p.m. Easter Sunday, the Radisson on Ann St's buffet will have chef-carved roast beef, honey ham, baked salmon, roasted leg of lamb, assorted salads and cold entrees and a dessert table. Pricing: $18.95 for adults, $8.95 for children 5-12 years old. Reservations required.

Jack's - Bring family and friends to Jack's annual Grand Easter Buffet at the Spring Lake/Grand Haven Holiday Inn April 12. Adults are $19.95 and children 12 & under are $9.95. Reservations are strongly encouraged; open 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

W.K. Kellogg Manor House - The annual buffet at the MSU Kellogg Biological Station's historic W.K. Kellogg Manor House in Hickory Corners (near the Gilmore Car Museum) returns April 12 at 11 a.m. Brunch prices are $21 for adults, $19, $11 for kids 5 to 12 and free for kids 4 and younger and include glazed spiral ham, omelet and waffle stations, salad, fresh fruit, assorted breads and desserts. Reservations requested.


Visits with the Easter Bunny

Photos at RiverTown Crossings - The Easter Bunny will be in the Promo Court at Rivertown Crossings Mall daily, March 21-April 11. Hours are 10a-8p Monday through Saturday and 11a-6p on Sundays.

Visit the Easter Bunny at Woodland Mall - The Easter Bunny will be in the Macy's wing of Woodland Mall daily, March 28th - April 11. The Easter Bunny's home will feature a "green park," where individuals are invited to learn more about natural landscapes, how to recycle rain water, the benefits of mulching and more, during a visit in an eco-friendly garden! Photo packages are available, starting at $15.99.

Bunny Train - Kids of all ages are invited to the 1 hour, 20 minute train excursion through the countryside of Coopersville and Marne. The Easter Bunny and her cast of wacky musical characters will perform in each of the antique passenger cars and the Springtime Princess will read stories and lead the passengers in songs. Runs March 28 & 29 and April 4, 5 & 11. Tickets are $14.50 for adults and $10 for kids 2-12.

Photos at Rogers Plaza - Visit the Easter Bunny daily at Rogers Plaza on 28th St in Wyoming for photos and poses from 10 a.m until 9 p.m. each day April 3-11. Kids can also participate in a coloring contest to win an Easter basket.


Special Events

IDMA Good Friday Program - DeVos Place will be the site of 'The Last Seven Words of Christ' presented by seven dynamic speakers and featuring music by the IDMA Mass Community Choir. Takes place April 10 at 6 p.m.; free admission.

Calvary Easter Services & Buffet - Calvary Church will have Easter Sunday services at 7:00am, 8:20am, 9:45am, and 11:15 a.m. and full breakfast buffet from 8-10 a.m. (small donation suggested.

Veritas U - Inspired by the fun of the High School Musical movies and the camaraderie of the Friends TV series, Veritas U is an original Easter drama presented by Blythefield Hills Baptist Church where the characters experience the ups and downs of college life and some find hope in The Bible. The cast includes over 250 adults, students and children accompanied by a full orchestra. Performances April 10, 11 & 12. $5.

White Lake Festival Choir Easter Concert - The Montague Area High School Auditorium is again the site of the annual White Lake Festival Choir's performances of a musical depicting the death and resurrection of Christ. Concert days are April 3-5. Free admission.
