Celebrate Memorial Day Weekend with parades and special ceremonies, plus this weekend also features Fruitport Old Fashioned Days, Sara Evans, Bob Seger and the Spring Parade of Homes.
Fruitport Old Fashioned Days - Enjoy seven days of carnival games, midway rides, music, entertainment and food, just east of Muskegon. This year's Old Fashioned Days will have the Michigan Veterans Moving Wall display, fireworks, the Memorial Day Parade, the Wild Kingdom petting zoo and a classic car show sponsored by Royal Corvettes. Admission to most activities is free, with midway wristbands priced at $15 in advance.
Spring Parade of Homes - At the popular annual event hosted by the Home & Building Association of Grand Rapids, walk through more than 50 homes across West Michigan ranging in sizes from 1,500 sq. ft. to nearly 6,000. Tickets are $12 for adults; Parade runs through June 11.
Reefer Madness! - It's 1936, and main character Jimmy has become a murderous fiend after being led astray by the 'Devil Weed', marijuana. He's now on the run in a stolen car in this campy, over-the-top musical performed by Actors' Theatre Grand Rapids. Tickets are $24, and the show continues through June 4.

Sara Evans & Danny Gokey - Country star Sara Evans ('Suds in the Bucket', 'Born to Fly') takes the stage with American Idol finalist Danny Gokey at the Val Du Lakes Amphitheater in Mears. Ticket prices range from $29.50 to $55.50.
Bob Seger Encore - After a successful and sold-out concert just a couple of months ago at Van Andel Arena, Bob Seger brings his Silver Bullet Band back for an encore performance at 8 p.m. at the Arena. Tickets are $72.50.
Super Happy Funtime Burlesque - After touring the nation for a month, the crew is back at the Wealthy Theatre in Grand Rapids to present the rowdy burlesque show with a live band. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door.
All Saturday Events
Robin Trower - The English rock guitarist visits The Orbit Room with special guest Slight Return. Tickets are $19.50 in advance and $24 at the door. Ages 16+ welcome.
All Sunday Events
Memorial Day (05/30)
Grand Rapids Memorial Day Parade - The annual parade will be held at 7:30 p.m. The route will remain the same as in previous years with the parade traveling south on Division to Fulton and east to Veterans Park, where a ceremony will be held.
Walker Parade - The Walker Memorial Day Parade held at at noon will follow Lake Michigan Dr. NW between Lincoln Lawns and St. Clair. Veterans, marching bands, floats, and local groups/organizations will be participating.
Caledonia - The Caledonia American Legion Post 305 will hold its annual ceremonies at the following local cemeteries on Memorial Day: 9 a.m. in Alaska; 9:45 a.m. in Blain; 10:30 a.m. in Dutton; 11:15 a.m. in Holy Corners. The Caledonia parade will begin at noon at the corner of Kinsey and Main streets in the downtown area.
