It's an interesting mix of events this weekend with Beethoven, Restaurant Week, a magazine launch, football, Drumline Live and the opening of a new burger joint.
Veteran's Day Parade - Steps off at 7:30 p.m. at Michigan and Division, heads south on Division to Fulton, and east on Fulton to Veterans Park, where a 20 minute ceremony will follow.
KHLOE Magazine Launch Party - The new fashion magazine created by GVSU student Hope Alcocer 'that will revamp and redefine women's media' celebrates its launch at a black and white tie party at Hoi Polloi Gallery on South Division. The mag will be entirely filled out by reader-contributor articles and photos of West Michigan models of all shapes and sizes.
Sesame Street Live - The live touring family show stops at Van Andel Arena Friday through Sunday. Elmo and friends will help a new music teacher replace her missing music instruments with every day items like trash can lids, cookie jars and rubber duckies. Tickets start at $14.50.
Beethoven's 'Ode to Joy' - The Grand Rapids Symphony kicks off the choral portion of their schedule with a work that many consider the finest musical composition of all time: Beethoven's Ninth Symphony. Tickets: $18+.
Traffic Jam - Six Christian bands will perform a free concert at the Kroc Center to aid in the awareness of human trafficking. The GR performance will one of dozens happening around the globe on 11/11/11.
All Friday Events
GVSU vs. Saginaw Valley - Grand Valley closes out its regular football season at Lubbers Stadium against Saginaw Valley. Kick off is at 1 p.m.
Ladies' Weekend Expo - The ultimate ladies' outing at DeVos Place will have three days of jewelry, decorating and fashion vendors, daily prize giveaways, a mother-daughter look-a-like contest and more. Admission: $7.
Restaurant Week - It's the final days of Restaurant Week; visit more than 70 participating restaurants from all around the area like Bar Divani, Electric Cheetah and Blythefield Country Club. Each eatery will offer either a 3-course meal for $25 per person or a 2 for $25 menu.
Acapell-Off - See a capella groups from colleges around Michigan & the midwest compete for bragging rights this Saturday at Allendale HS. Last year's groups came from MSU, GVSU, Western, Central, DePaul and more.

Bagger Dave's Legendary Burger Tavern grand opening - The Michigan-based full-service restaurant featuring burgers, craft beers, fries, chili, soups and milkshakes will open at 28th & Kraft SE with a ribbon cutting at 11 a.m.
Drumline Live - The show-stopping marching band attraction created by the music team behind the hit movie 'Drumline' brings the theatrics and beat to the stage at DeVos Performance Hall. Tickets are listed as $29.50, $39.50 and $49.50.
Harry Potter's Wizard's Ball - The Grand Rapids Public Library welcomes the traveling exhibit 'Harry Potter's World: Renaissance Science, Magic and Medicine' to its downtown branch with a Wizard's Ball that will have a life-size chess demonstration, a potions class and Harry Potter costume contest.
