Share Friday (09/23) ArtPrize - Friday's ArtPrize highlights include Westside Neighborhood GO Time, a meet-the-artists reception at Purple East, Cathedral Square's opening reception WMU's ArtPrize Reveal After Party. Full ArtPrize Guide. Oktoberfest - The annual festival returns this Friday and Saturday to John Ball Park with a beer tent, German music, dancing, authentic food and more. Admission is free. Gershwin's Greatest Hits - The Grand Rapids Symphony performs the best of the celebrated American composer, who so effortlessly linked jazz with orchestral compositions. Tickets start at $18. Rockford Harvest Festival - Downtown Rockford welcomes the fall season in a big way with hayrides, children's activities, scarecrow building and much more. Admission is free. All Friday Events Saturday (09/24) ArtPrize - The main event continues with a morning ArtWalk, artist demonstrations at Peaches Bed & Breakfast, Center City GO Time and live music at Rosa Parks Circle. Full ArtPrize Guide. Komen Race for the Cure - One of the largest 5K walk/runs in the area, the Susan G Komen Race for the Cure 2011, returns to RiverTown Crossings Mall next Saturday morning. Registration is still open. West Side Pizza Shoot-out - Try out a variety of pizzas served by local independent pizza-makers competing head-to-head to be your favorite at Sacred Heart of Jesus Church on Garfield SW. Enjoy family-friendly per-piece pricing, salad and breadsticks from 6 to 9 p.m. The Famous Pumpkin Train - See The Great Pumpkin, Scarecrow and Little Crow on the Coopersville & Marne Railway. Local actress Eva Swietec and her cast of wacky characters will sing and dance during the approximately 1 hour, 15 minute ride and each child can pick a pumpkin from the pumpkin patch after the train returns to downtown Coopersville. Runs Saturdays and Sundays through October 30. Tickets: adults $14.50, seniors (60+) $13.50, kids (2-12) $11.50. All Saturday Events Sunday (09/25) ArtPrize Street Party - Swing by the street party at LaGrave & Fulton between noon and 8 p.m., in front of the Cottage Bar, and catch live music with the Nik Stevenson, 13th Hour and The Trace.
