Enjoy another weekend of events filled with the holiday spirit like Sinterklaas Eve, Rooftop Reindeer, Holiday Pops, Urban Lights, the Coopersville Santa Parade and more.


Friday (12/07)

Nestle Gerber Holiday Pops - It wouldn't be Christmas in Grand Rapids without the Symphony performing its favorite holiday music sing-along at DeVos Performance Hall. The Symphony will be joined on stage by the Symphony Chorus and Santa will make a special visit. Runs through December 9; tickets start at $18.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra - The symphonic rock group best known for progressive interpretations of favorite Christmas carols returns to Van Andel Arena with an all-new stage and performance for afternoon and evening shows. Tickets: $31.50+.

Holiday Fashion Show - Downtown GR retailer Lee & Birch will host the fashion show at "The Space" on the 6th floor of the 50 Louis Building above their shop. Tickets are $25 and include drinks, food, door prizes and a store discount.

Sinterklaas Eve - In true Dutch folk tradition, the annual procession in downtown Holland welcomes Sinterklaas (St. Nicholas) on his white horse surrounded by his mischievous Zwarte Piet helpers. The new route for 2012 begins at 7 p.m. December 7 at Central Ave and 12th Street and will end at the gazebo in Centennial Park.

Coopersville Santa Parade - One of Michigan's original nighttime parades returns Friday, December 7 at 7 p.m. (immediately following the tree lighting) in downtown Coopersville. See dozens of professional floats, decorated vehicles, fire trucks and a visit from Santa Claus. Free.

Saturday (12/08)

Beer Brawl - The Grand Raggidy Roller Girls host their 5th Annual Beer Brawl at Rivertown Sports in Grandville. Watch as New Holland takes on the GR Rapid Assault and Schmohz battles Arbor Brewing on the rink. Plus the Girls will be giving away a pair of sold out Winter Beer Festival tickets.

Urban Lights: Holiday Market - Find unique and handcrafted holiday gifts created by local artisans along the Avenue of the Arts. The retailers and galleries on South Division will be open extended hours, from noon until 9 p.m. No admission charged.

Roof Top Reindeer - Santa's reindeer will visit the English Perennial and Bulb Garden at Meijer Gardens from 1-4 p.m. Included with general admission, pet the live reindeer while enjoying the Christmas & Holiday Traditions Around the World exhibit. $12 for adults, $4-$6 for kids.

Festival of Lights - Calvary Church's all-new production 'A Time for Christmas', a musical journey with a 100+ voice choir, a dramatic cast and more than 200,000 twinkling lights. Tickets are $6-$7; performances will be December 7-9 and 14-16.

Grand Rapids Griffins - It's a Salute to Heroes at Van Andel Arena as the Griffins host the Rockford IceHogs. Throughout the evening the Griffins will honor local firefighters, police officers and paramedics and the first 1,500 fans will receive a Griffins' superhero cape. Tickets start at $14 with some discounts available.
