The New Hotel Mertens has long been a popular, upscale hotel and eatery in the Grand Rapids area. Its first-floor restaurant is now expanding as a lounge will be opening on the ninth floor of the building by August of this year.
Restaurant founder and director, Anthony Tangorra announced that the new 40 seat expansion will be named, “Haute at New Hotel Mertens”. The lounge will feature a French menu that includes fresh seafood, charcuterie, hors-d’oeuvres and a full bar offering cocktails, wine and beer. Diners will also have the opportunity to enjoy the spectacular views of the ninth floor location.
Guests will be welcome to enjoy meals from lunchtime to late evening seven days a week. Brunch and breakfast options may be added at a later date. Table service and soft lounge seating will allow guests to enjoy meals in a comfortable, luxurious setting. The space will also be available for private events.
In an effort to preserve the history of Mertens, which originally opened in 1914, the Mertens Hospitality staff, along with The Grand Rapids Historical Commission are requesting that anyone who has photographs or artifacts of the hotel, of any sort, to please contact one of these organizations at email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Hotel Mertens has been a beacon of luxury in its community for over a hundred years. Be sure to keep on top of updates as it continues to expand with its newest development ‘Haute at New Hotel Mertens’. Its unique French fare, an impressive selection of drinks and upscale atmosphere promise to make for a trendy eatery that will be a terrific addition to the neighborhood.
