Luna Taqueria y Cocina, a new Latin American-influenced restaurant operated by the owner of Tacos el Cunado at the Downtown Market, is scheduled to open sometime in the summer of 2015.
“Besides offering fine, classically cooked dishes with fresh, local ingredients, the restaurant will offer a unique dining experience,” said creator and locally-experienced restaurateur Mario Cascante. “The inspiration for Luna comes from visits to some of the best restaurants in the country and a desire to bring those unique experiences to West Michigan.”
The upscale eatery will be open seven days a week for both lunch and dinner, and will have a full-service bar featuring Latin-inspired signature cocktails. Cascante is also hoping to have outdoor seating on Ionia in the form of a parklet, similar to what Grand Rapids Brewing Company has just up the street.
25 jobs will be added to the downtown economy when Luna opens.
