The Grand Rapids Symphony Announces its November Calendar

The Grand Rapids Symphony has been bringing a number of events to the West Michigan area for close to 90 years. This November will be no exception. Read on to find out about the musical events the organization has in store for the coming month.

Bernstein’s 100th: 
Devos Performance Hall, Nov. 2 &3, 8 PM

Leonard Bernstein has been celebrated as one of the finest conductors, composers, pianists, authors, and lecturers of modern times. For this event, guest conductor and musical director of the Pacific Symphony will be guiding the Grand Rapids Symphony through of sampling of Bernstein’s most popular works.

Sinatra and Beyond:
DeVos Performance Hall
Nov. 9-11 8 PM Friday and Saturday, 3 PM Sunday

Tony DeSare, star of the Off-Broadway show, Our Sinatra, will be returning to the Grand Symphony Stage to pay tribute to Sinatra’s greatest hits.

Mozart Great Mass in C Minor
DeVos Performance Hall, Nov. 16&17 8 PM

These performances will feature Ives’ The Unanswered Question, Schubert’s Symphony No. 8 and Mozart’s Great Mass in C Minor performed by the Grand Rapids Symphony who will be accompanied by the Grand Rapids Symphony Chorus.

The Snowman:
DeVos Performance Hall, Nov. 17, 3 PM

Based on the children’s book, The Snowman, this performance will help bring in the Christmas cheer. It will feature live orchestral music to narrate a child’s journey with his snowman friend.

Home Alone
DeVos Performance Hall, Nov. 29, 7:30 PM

Guests will have an opportunity to see this classic film accompanied by a live performance of the score written by John Williams.
