Seasonal + Fall Beverages


Pumpkin, apple and deliciously scary beverages—oh my! 

It’s full on into fall—thanks 40 degree weather for reminding us—and we are all about those fun fall flavors…even the ones that bleed over into the haunted genre.

We’ve rounded up some tasty beverages for your fall and Halloween pleasure—both alcoholic and non. BUT get them while you can. Cheers!

Amaro SourCafe Mamo

📍1601 Plainfield Ave NE

New{er} to the restaurant scene in GR, Cafe Mamo has all the creature comforts—in respect to food—but also the drink line-up is *chef’s kiss*. The Amaro Sour has fall flavors that evoke warmth and joy. With a flavor profile of Lucano Amaro, honey, lemon, and egg white. It’s basically like Autumn in your mouth. 

Echo 1Danzón

📍 1 Carlton Ave SE Ste A

Who you gonna call? Ghost—well, actually Danzón..right here in GR! Their “staff loves ghostbusters, so we thought we’d bring back old memories”. This takes us back to trying to get that straw into those Hi-C boxes with Echo Slimer on the front. Tangerine, plantation 3 stars rum, simple syrup, mango rim garnished with an orange slice.

Seasonal Margaritas — MAYA Mexican Grill & Bar 

📍 1020 28th St SW, Wyoming

Margarita’s are not just a sign of summer—especially when they embody the scary season. With margarita’s called Sour Crawler, Blood Orange,  Scary Berry and Haunted Margarita, these beverages are sure to put a scream in your step and deliciousness in your sip. ONLY available until November 3rd.

Pumpkin Spice Margarita— Bier Distilling

📍 5295 W River Dr NE, Comstock Park

$5 dollar, $5 dollar foot…ummm, not quite. This margarita from Bier might only be $5 and meets all the fall standards for Autumn…so that’s why we are fallin’ (see what we did there!) for the Pumpkin Spice Margarita. This one uses their “aged moonshine (5+ years in a used whiskey barrel) for a concentrated flavor explosion”. Find it during Margarita Mondays at Bier Distilling. 

Caramel Corn Old FashionedRockwell Republic

📍45 Division Ave S

Not only does RR throw the BEST Halloween parties but they also throw down a mean bevie. Take this fall version of an old fashion. From mellow corn bourbon, burnt sugar syrup, angostura bitters, molasses bitters, ice ball, and caramel corn skewer, it’s basically an alcoholic trick or treat in your mouth. 

CAUGHT IN THE RAIN—Two James Grand Rapids

📍 740 Michigan St NE Suite 100A

Typically we wouldn’t love the thought of our flares (those are back in style, right?!) getting soaked BUT when it’s in drink form, getting “Caught in the Rain” sounds quite appealing. Doctor Bird Rum, Orange Liqueur, Fall Coconut Cream, Apple Cider, and Lime make it ok to sing in the rain. Well, maybe no singing has to be involved. Two James might like us better if we don’t condone that, lol! 

King Midas— Eastern Kille

📍 700 Ottawa Ave NW

Will our tounge turn to gold, Eastern Kille? Probably not but with a flavor profile of chai vodka, golden milk, pineapple, ginger, and aromatics, the King Midas cocktail will have you feeling like 24 Karats (like the song…oh never mind). 

Also, Appelflappen has been back for a minute so don’t miss your chance try an apple cocktail or grab a bottle of this limited fall release. 

Zero Line & Barreled-Aged–Vander Mill

Love cider but also want a little less sugar? Enter the Zero Line from Vander Mill. The new line boasts zero sugar added until the fermentation process is complete which means these beverages aren’t ultra-swee–so the real flavors can be enjoyed. During a time of crushing candy like it’s our jobs, it nice to have a less sugar laden option to indulge in.

Also a fan favorite, Totally Roasted (sold in 12oz pack) is blended with cider aged in single-use whiskey barrels giving it a smooth feel and a woody, aged flavor that can’t be beat in fall.

I Keep on Fallin’—Forty Pearl

📍 40 Pearl (downtown GR) 

Forty Pearl is know for their wines and fabulous eats but their cocktails are some of our favorites. This fall you can “catch” the I Keep on Fallin’ (we know we’re funny) which is a mix of Burl & Sprig Tribus Gin, apple cider, lemon juice, pumplin spice simple syrup, and ginger beer. 

THIS WAS THE DRINK OF THE DAY! But we know they can whip up a fun fall beverage of your dreams.

Don’t forget to order the Delicata Squash Rings with Tempura Squash and Smoked Maple Aioli. Doesn’t get more fall than that! 

Bonita Apple Bomb —Forty Acres Soul Kitchen

Cider + Sage–Gaia Cafe

📍1553 Plainfield Ave NE

Fans of Gaia are rejoicing because the iconic eatery is BACK and bringing their unique beverages options. The Cider + Sage is a new seasonal addition that they are bringing out on the weekends. Stop in—not just for the hot bevs–but also the menu. Serving up vegan and vegetarian options, no wonder this locale is a community favorite. 

The Chaider—Roots Brew Shop

📍 600 7th St NW

You can find their coffee in Meijer and always stop into their coffee house to catchup with a friend, attend to those long overdue emails, or just take a minute to yourself and sip on one of the many fall options—like Chaider (chai with cider), a Pumpkin Spice Latte, and the West Cider (hot apple cider).

We’re the first to admit that we adore anything pumpkin spiced flavored. Might be “basic” of us BUT this cafe and restaurant has nothing basic about it. Stop in for the Spiced Pumpkin Latte then stay for the Korean fusion menu.

TIKI MUGS—Max’s South seas Hideaway

📍 58 Ionia Ave SW

Max’s is releasing two new tiki mugs made in their in-house ceramic studio, plus a new glaze edition of their previously released “Creature Feature” mug (designed by Derek Yaniger). This is to celebrate their second year in business. 

“The first is called “Unholy Diver” and was designed by artist Anthony Carpenter. Edition of 100 mugs, $135 each. 

The second mug was designed by us in house and is called “Mad Mod Mayan.” Edition of 50 mugs, $125 each. 

The third mug is a new glaze of our previously released “Creature Feature” mug. Edition of 40, $200 and comes with a little “mini me” shot glass (sold as a set). The sale starts at 11 AM Saturday, October 23.” Per Max’s Facebook post
