20 Places to Cool Off in Grand Rapids: Swim Edition!

The temperature is rising here in West Michigan and everybody could use a swim! Pools and lakes are super fun ways to spend the day with your friends and family, and there are tons of fantastic and affordable options right near Grand Rapids. Here are 20 places to cool off!

  1. Long Lake Park – Open natural areas with a mile of water on Long Lake offer an amazing setting for picnics, swimming and fishing.


  1. Myers Lake – Playgrounds, plenty of spaces for picnics, great fishing and a free public beach with changing rooms.


  1. Wabasis Lake Park – Boat launch, wooded trails, picnic areas and shelters. Also a campground with 90 sites, 3 cabins and a cottage for rent.

  1. High School Pool – 14 lane competitive pool primarily used for varsity sports, recreation classes, open swim and lap swimming.


  1. Wealthy Pool – warm water pool kept at 86 degrees, shallow bottom pool primarily used for adult exercise, youth swimming lessons and family time.
