The Barley, BBQ and Beats event is coming to Grand Rapids! This will be a great opportunity to have fun with likeminded members of the community while supporting a good cause. The event will be held on Saturday, May 11 at DeVos Place and tickets are just $40 or $45 at the door. Read on to find out five reasons why you should attend!

Move over Beer City for a title, Distillery City! This event will be a great gathering featuring many distilleries from Grand Rapids and West Michigan – 13 in all! Barbecue fans rejoice! The event will feature food from a variety of local barbecue joints throughout the West Michigan area. Get ready to put your bib on to enjoy all the great ribs, meats and tasty sides from American Char, Black Bull BBQ & Grill, Daddy Pete’s BBQ, Jonny B’z, Louise Earl Butcher, Main Street BBQ, Ms Piggie’s BBQ, Saladino Smoke, SLOWS BAR BQ Grand Rapids, The Grilling Company, and Two Scotts Barbecue.
The day will be filled with live entertainment. Enjoy the funk stylings of the Hip Pocket, the award-winning classic rock band, Mid Life Crisis and the blues-rock-jazz fusion of theThe Fast Hands Band, all local to Grand Rapids.
4 |Downtown Location
DeVos Place is known for providing a great atmosphere for any event. It has lovely theater spaces, an exhibit hall, meeting rooms and a ballroom. It is also located in the heart of downtown in walking distance to Grand Rapids nightclubs, museums, shops and more.
5 | A Great Cause
All proceeds from the Barley, BBQ and Beats event goes directly to the Hospice of Michigan. They are the world’s most experienced provider of hospice care in Michigan and provide care for all regardless of age, diagnosis and ability to pay. They heavily rely on donations to keep them going which is why the Barley, BBQ and Beats event is so important.
All ticket holders will be provided tokens at check in. These tokens are valid for 3 servings of BBQ and 3 hand crafted cocktails. Additional tokens can be purchased for $5 each.
This event promises to be a lot of fun and it is all to benefit a worthwhile cause. Sounds like a win-win to us!
