The much anticipated new exhibition Expedition: Dinosaur is coming to the Grand Rapids Public Museum and will be celebrated with an opening party on Saturday, October 13 from 10 AM – 3 PM. Find out more about the exhibition and what you can expect when you come by on the 13th to partake in the festivities.
The Expedition: Dinosaur exhibit will allow all visitors to become paleontologists for the day with a display of life-sized animatronic dinosaurs and electronic learning stations. There will be several interactive displays that can explain the anatomy of the dinosaur as well as modern imaging techniques that can examine a T Rex skull in microscopic detail or reveal its insides.

The party will serve as a fundraiser for the museum and those attending will have first access to the exhibit. The opening party will take place over three floors of the GRPM with live dinosaurs roaming around and additional hands-on activities. Highlights will include a fossil dig, photo opportunities that incorporate face-morphing technology, and a special appearance from Buddy the Dinosaur, a popular character from the PBS Kids’ popular Dinosaur Train program.
There will also be an exclusive ‘Breakfast with the Dinos’ taking place from 8-10 AM on the day of the party. Those who decide to come early to enjoy this delicious meal will be welcome to stay for the entire event. You can find tickets for the party available here and tickets for the breakfast here.
