The cost of battling cancer can be insurmountable, especially with a family to raise and no insurance.

The Hero Foundation is a grassroots nonprofit started by GVSU alumni to help families financially as they navigate cancer treatment.

Most recently, the Hero Foundation has focused on helping families pay their mortgages but they also have helped with Christmas gifts, utility bills or purchasing special chairs or other equipment to help through treatment.

The Hero Foundation is completely volunteer based. There are no paid employees, just a group of people dedicated to helping Michigan families. This allows for basically no overhead to helps to ensure that 100% of donations have maximum impact for the families.
