Local Spins Wednesdays Tribute Month at SpeakEZ Lounge presents a much-anticipated, much-buzzed about event: A tribute to the legendary Rush, courtesy of Catch the Fish: A RUSH Tribute.
Catch the Fish features Paul Abel, Neil Postema and Dave Savage of progressive rock band, Cube, and their mentee, Patty PerShayla, of the eponymous Mayhaps as well as a prodigious solo act. They bonded over their love of Rush, with the band splitting the role of singer Geddy Lee between Paul and Patty. The band employs three keyboards and a MIDI pedal board, programmed to match each record sonically.
This show, of course, will also pay homage to late, great drummer Neil Peart (who recently passed away), with drummer Postema making use of several rack toms and cymbals along with an electronic pad. Expect a night that’s a heartfelt journey through the creativity and power of Rush.
Also, this “celebration of music” will accept donations in Peart’s name for Cancer Research Institute.
Local Spins Wednesdays are presented by Local Spins, SpeakEZ Lounge, North Coast Guitar Company and WYCE, with Michigan beer specials on tap and free parking in the city lot on Monroe Avenue just southwest of SpeakEZ or in the Sixth Street Park lot to the north (plus street parking). Admission, as always, is free with donations cheerfully accepted for the cause.
