A Catered Dinner Fashion Show w/ Auctions!!!
ATTIRE: Fashionably Cocktail
This September, join us for an exclusive evening at the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel that will truly be a one-of-a-kind event to be found in Grand Rapids. We welcome you to a night of couture, presented by Grand Rapid’s very own acclaimed fashion designer RC Caylan.
RC Caylan’s designs are unequivocally unique and have been featured in well noted magazines such as British Vogue, Cosmopolitan Mexico, Basic Magazine, and L’Officiel AU. This year, RC Caylan will be presenting his Spring/Summer 2020 Collection right here in Grand Rapids, fresh off the runway from New York Fashion Week. This eclectic show of the newest trends in fashion, cultivated with RC’s signature aesthetic, will be benefiting the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
At JDRF, their vision is a world without Type I diabetes. Their mission is to improve the lives of today and tomorrow by accelerating life-changing breakthroughs to cure, prevent, and treat Type I diabetes and its complications. T1D is an autoimmune disease that affects both children and adults and often comes unexpectedly with no warning signs. It has nothing to do with diet or lifestyle and there is nothing you can do to prevent it. And, at present, there is no cure.
About 1.25 million Americans today have T1D and 40,000 people will be newly affected by this disease this year. Many have difficulty affording the lifesaving hormone, Insulin, which regulates glucose levels and prevents T1D’s serious long-term health complications such as kidney failure, heart attack, stroke, and blindness. While Insulin is not a cure, it is a crucial treatment needed to treat T1D, and JDRF strives to make it affordable to those living with this disease. With charitable programs like JDRF One Walk®, company summits, and integrative fashion shows with renowned designers such as RC Caylan, JDRF is able to fund not only research for a cure, but also make Insulin affordable to those affected who need assistance.
As RC Caylan Atelier® grows as a designer and finds success in his designs, which have been worn by celebrities such as Grammy Award winning artists Carrie Underwood, Erika Ender, and actress and philanthropist Holly Robinson Peete, he is committed to giving back to the community, especially to those who are affected by debilitating diseases. Having partnered with the American Cancer Society in 2017 for his acclaimed fashion show “An Enchanted Evening,” RC is honored to have JDRF as his Benefeciary this year and is thrilled to once again show Grand Rapids his newest fashions. This exclusive limited seating event, A catered Dinner Fashion show will be one night only and will surely be a memorable moment in Grand Rapids history that you won’t want to miss.
