Grand New: Furniture City Creamery is Bringing Their Ice Cream to the Streets

The weather’s heating up and it’s the perfect time of year to start thinking about, that’s right …ice cream!

Frozen treat lovers can look forward to something really special this summer. Furniture City Creamery is now bringing their ice cream to the streets, in their vintage Ford truck. Read on to find out more about Furniture City’s new venture into the food truck game…

Reports that Furniture City purchased the 1970 refrigerated truck from the Detroit area surfaced last week. The company is currently working on making the truck street ready. It will be set to hit the streets this summer just in time for all those wonderful festivals around Grand Rapids.

Furniture City was founded in 2015 by Rachel Franko and her husband Matt. They specialize in manufacturing small batches of vintage-inspired dairy and vegan ice cream. They cater to frozen treat lovers with different dietary needs AND man’s (and woman’s) best friend! Yes, they event off dairy treats for your dog!  Those that want to visit their brick and mortar location can find them in Uptown, more specifically in the East Hills business district.

The Furniture City truck will be out and about, serving up made from scratch frozen treats to Grand Rapids businesses and residents this summer. Be sure to be listening for their truck and looking out for their signature goodies. It is sure to have Grand Rapids residents of all ages running to the streets screaming for ice cream!
