Future Location of Ambiance GR Kitchen and Lounge

Ambiance GR is brought to you by the mind of serial entrepreneur Jamiel Robinson. Besides serving food and drinks, this swanky cocktail lounge will host live music representing diverse musical genres as well as comedy entertainment.

Robinson believes its unique identity as a metropolitan, urban lounge will set Ambiance apart overall. He was inspired in his travels to Detroit, Chicago, Atlanta and DC to provide Grand Rapids with a space to enjoy live music, dancing and cocktails. Ambiance will also be the first African-American owned lounge with a full kitchen and a liquor license to operate in the downtown area for the past 20 years.

Motu Viget Spirits

Robinson is no stranger to doing business in the Grand Rapids area. He is the founder and CEO of Grand Rapids Area Black Businesses and has recently launched Motu Viget Spirits – a wine and spirits company -along with partners Jonathan Jelks and Willie “Willie The Kid” Jackson. Jelks will also be part of the Ambiance team working on day to day operations, while another team member, Lace Jones, will be working on bringing in entertainment that appeals to their diverse crowd.

There is no word on exactly when Ambiance GR will open its doors, but the restaurant gave word that it was 60% completed at the end of September. In the meantime, Grand Rapids residents anxiously await it’s official arrival and overall unique vibes!
