Rosa Park Circle is a popular destination for skating in the winter and also serves as a multi-purpose facility for summertime fun. If you are lucky enough to live or work near the downtown area, the plaza has a great way for you to spend your lunchtimes during the warmer months. The concert series Relax with Rosa is returning starting May 3.
Relax with Rosa started four years ago and has since become an annual tradition during the spring and summer months in the Grand Rapids area. The event is totally free and takes place between 12 noon and 1:30 PM every Thursday starting on May 3 and running through September 15. It features live bands as well as large games to play and food trucks.
The series has just announced most of the bands for this season’s lineup. These include local talent that represents various genres of music including blues, reggae, world music and more. Among the notable acts are Complicated Animals, Cabildo and Kathy Lamar.
If you are lucky enough to be in downtown for these lunchtime concerts, you are free to take in the scenery of the beautifully designed area, which includes a statue of Rosa Parks. What better way to unwind during your lunch hour? We look forward to seeing you there!
