What’s your current stress reliever? Meditating, deep breathing, squeezing a stress ball, target axe throwing…wait a minute…target axe throwing?! Yes, it’s a thing and it’s come to Grand Rapids. Find out how you can partake in this new “relaxing” activity.

Target Axe Throwing opened in Grand Rapids on the weekend of March 23rd. The facility is located at 3661 Plainfield Ave. NE. Here’s a bit about how it works.

If you want to try your hand and test your axe throwing skills, you’ll need to book a lane. Reservations are not required, but they are recommended. At the end of each lane is a bullseye. Like bowling, you can compete against your friends to determine who has the best lumberjack skills of all.

Four guests can rent a lane for one hour for $80. For groups of 5-10 people, the rate is $100 per hour. If your party is larger than 10, a second lane is required.

Participants should wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes. Participants must be 14 years of age and older, while all minors should be accompanied by an adult. The facility does serve food and drink, but no alcohol!

Target Axe Throwing’s goal is to bring the rural action of axe throwing to the urban Grand Rapids life. Test your skills to find out if you have what it takes to be a lumberjack. Reserve a lane for you and your friends tonight and enjoy a unique night on the town.
